Lufthansa plans flights to Iraq from mid-2010

<div><p>German flag carrier Lufthansa said on Tuesday it was looking into the possibility of operating commercial flights to Iraq from its hubs in Frankfurt and Munich later this year.</p><p>The airline said it hoped to offer flights to the capital Baghdad and the city of Erbil in northern Iraq's Kurdish region.</p><p>"Lufthansa aims to launch the new services in the summer of 2010, once it has obtained the necessary traffic rights," the airline said in a statement.</p><p>The airline operated flights to Baghdad from 1956 but stopped them in 1990 after the first Gulf War broke out.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=66774196&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
